Duncanson 46ft Motorsailor Ketch

Description

'Tirriki' is an outstanding example of a classic timber ketch rigged motor sailor. She was designed by American Naval Architect John Alden and is based on his famous 'Lady Helene' yachts. She is a very unique vessel presenting in excellent condition throughout, with plenty of character 'Tirriki' is a true gentleman's yacht, and absolute classic example of the very high standards that can be delivered with properly constructed timber vessels. She has been fastidiously and continuously maintained and is a British registered ship.

Built by Duncanson yachts over a 2.5 year period under constant supervision by her owners, she was launched in 1970 and was the final timber vessel constructed by Duncansons. Around 20,000 man hours went into her creation. 'Tirriki' is a very comfortable and safe cruising vessel giving great performance under power and sail.

With an incredibly strong all timber construction, she has 1.5 inch planking in Jarrah up to the waterline and Huon pine above, guard rails and bulwarks are all teak. The interior is finished in Honduras Mahogany and can sleep up to 10 persons.

'Tirriki' has been owned by one family since her launch and has been continuously and extensively maintained including a major upgrade over a three month period in the latter half of 2017, works included:

New 316 stainless steel standing rigging
New 24 volt switchboard
New deckhouse top
